On Austin Museum Day, DPS educates kids about safety, crimefighting

During Museum Day at the Texas Department of Public Safety headquarters on Sunday, hardly anything was off limits – children could honk the horns of vintage patrol cars or a towering semi truck, they could climb inside an armored vehicle or onto the seat of a DPS motorcycle, and they could meet patrol horses and drug-sniffing dogs.

The event was one of more than 30 free events across the city as a part of Austin Museum Day, run by the Austin Museum Partnership. DPS has participated in Museum Day for the past five years.
