New Mississippi museums draw more visitors than expected

JACKSON, Miss. (WTOK) – The number of visitors to the Museum of Mississippi History and Mississippi Civil Rights Museum has exceeded original projections.
The Mississippi Department of Archives and History says more than 185,000 people toured the museums since opening seven months ago.

State tourism officials had projected 180,000 visits for the two museums in their first year in operation.
