Dinosaur Experience marks ‘great’ 1st year

CANON CITY — As the Royal Gorge Dinosaur Experience winds down its first full season of operation, the multimillion-dollar museum is offering end-of-the-year sales at its gift shop and conducting its second-annual holiday food drive in exchange for discounted admission tickets.

It’s also busy planning a list of upgrades to be made during a planned two-month closure in January and February.

The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday through Dec. 31.

The 16,200-square-foot facility was opened in July 2016 by former Reynolds Construction owner Dave Reynolds and his son, Zach Reynolds, who were looking to transition
